In our first meeting each of us was to come with 2 or 3
money saving or earning tips. I knew exactly what the first one I HAD to share
was. It was as this blog is titles, Pocketyourdollars.com.
This site is AMAZING. I am not exactly sure how I ever came across it because I
have been regularly utilizing it as a money saving resource for so long. I wish
I had documented how much money it has actually saved me over time but it is well
worth returning to again and again. I am forever thankful to Carrie Rocha the creator of
the site. She makes saving money easy & fun!
As with any resource it does take time to get used to how to
utilize it. Carrie has made this easy by having a section dedicated to
beginners. At the top of the page there are four sections- beginners should go
to the use the toolbox section, then
under the drop down menu go to get started tips. Next I think the
best section to regularly keep up with is the section: Deals & Freebies. It
is always located at the top of the page and is clearly labeled. Even easier is
to go to the drop down menu and click Free
stuff. Can’t go wrong with things that are just free!
My second tip would be to utilize the shopping
lists and FAQ’s on the site. These can also be found at the top of the page.
Thankfully Carrie & her staff have shopping lists all ready for us so we
don’t have to take a lot of time to save money. Did I mention Carrie does not
“clip” coupons! She doesn’t. The way she organizes them is by entire inserts
and labeling just the dates. Here is an example of how her lists read;

Note that she states what the value of the coupon is and the
date and publication it can be found in as well as the final price. She also
does not list every sale but has criteria she generally follows so that she is
posting deals that are most often rock bottom prices. Her rock
bottom price list is also a helpful tool. She also includes links to
printable coupons! I really can’t say enough about this site so check it out
