Hello and Welcome to Women’s Financial Group. If you are
here we must be talking about something you are interested in! Years ago women
were generally left in the dark about finances, and today regardless of if you
are a man or women, not enough people are taught the basics about financial
freedom or how to maintain your finances so you can get ahead. I have always
been very interested in things such as credit, investing, growing a business
and various ways of making income. When starting this group I had no idea what
would actually come of it just that I was interested in connecting with other
women and creating an avenue for us to utilize others strengths and support to
improve our financial situations.
Our first meeting was inspirational for me. Women were
invited via facebook and encouraged to bring 2-3 of their best money saving or
earning tips. We organized our discussion with a K/W/L chart. This charts what
we K (know), W (Want to know) and L (learned). Below you can find a version of our chart. We also paired it with a
clothing swap which was incredible! Several people brought gently used clothing
they no longer wanted or needed and everyone went home with some new additions
to their wardrobe. It was great fun and very informational!
